Initially, making affiliate income from pay per lead programs does not require a customer to purchase anything from an affiliate link. You can sign up for a trial membership or even obtain a free report from a pre-sales or a squeeze page. The best part of this is that you are being paid for providing a lead. The not so good part is that while you are being paid for providing a lead to the merchant, you cannot build a relationship with the customer because they have been directed to the merchant’s website. Is pay per lead affiliate income really profitable? Yes and no.
The key to any marketing and sales relationship is to generate repeat business. Even though you are getting paid with the pay per lead programs, it is not the most effective way to generate a recurring online income.
